Akito Goto
Akito Goto was born in 1995 and started playing the cello at the age of 5 in Japan. He has won many prizes in competitions, such as the First Prize in the Cello Department of Japan Player's Contest, Windsor and Maidenhead symphony orchestra-Young musician’s competition, 4th prize in the String section of Tunbridge Wells Competition and the youngest winner of Izuminomori Cello Contest for Junior High School student, the encouragement Award at Ishikawa music Academy. He was also the youngest participant in the Rostropovich cello competition. He has performed in major music facilities in both Japan and England from his childhood, for example at Salon Collina, Musikasa in Tokyo, Joy Concert, Hamarikyu Asahi hall, All Saint's Church in Twickenham, Clarendon Muse, Holocaust Memorial Day in Hertsmere Borough Council, Wigmore Hall and St Martin’s in the field. As an orchestral player he has performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, St Alban's Abbey and the Sage Gateshead. He studied under Hakuro Mori and Pal Banda and currently studies with Louise Hopkins.
